Tree planting requires written board approval and must meet the following requirements: not planted in any easement or right-of-way subject to public maintenance, native or naturalized, non-invasive, disease & pest resistant, and does not hang over roofs or other HOA structures. Any tree planted becomes property of the Forest Condominium Association and is subject to any care the board deems necessary. Note that any vendor hired to maintain landscaping of the Forest will follow the trimming and care rules determined by the board. Environmentally suitable trees are listed as follows:
BLUE SPRUCE
CANADIAN HEMLOCK
DOGWOOD CLOUD 9
DOGWOOD KOUSA
EASTERN REDBUD
EASTERN WHITE PINE
JAPANESE MAPLE
PAPER BIRCH
PRAIRIFIRE FLOWERING CRABAPPLE
RED MAPLE
REDBUDS
RIVER BIRCH
The list of trees is growing. Certain species considered at this time are specifically due to their ability to be more disease resistent then their cousins. Consider needs of light, water, protection from wind where necessary. We have specifically exluded the Ash tree due to the Emerald Ash borer. The HOA seeks to mitigate all risks where possible.
The HOA will consider the needs of the Forest, as well as the needs of the tree upon approval.
